Jason Boyett is a freelance writer and speaker from Amarillo, Texas. He is the author of several books in the Pocket Guide series, which include The Pocket Guide to the Bible, The Pocket Guide to the Afterlife, and The Pocket Guide to  Sainthood. Though not a professional theologian or historian, he has long been fascinated by religion and history. He writes books to both entertain and educate, especially about complicated religious topics like the Bible, the Afterife, and the Apocalypse — topics which end up being funnier than you might expect. No, really.

Jason’s writing has appeared in a variety of publications, from Paste to Salon to Relevant. He lives in Texas with his wife, Aimee, and their two children. He’s also not as serious as he looks in the photo.
