James-Michael Smith is a writer and speaker who–before stepping down to begin preparing for future Ph.D study–served for five years as pastor of discipleship at Good Shepherd UMC in Charlotte, NC. He earned his M.Div from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He loves teaching on and discussing obscure biblical passages, theological/spiritual truths, biblical Hebrew and anything pertaining to the Simpsons, MMA, or Ron Burgundy.
